We kicked off “Awaken the Force Within” by teasing fans with a simple question: which side are you on? The Light or the Dark? They had to choose wisely, their decision would follow them across all their Google products.
I was the lead designer and participated in making the final website, prototype, the launch spot and creating the easter eggs produced by Google.
For the second installment, we worked on Jakku Spy: a series of Virtual Reality scenes created exclusively for Google Cardboard by Industrial Light & Magic that brought fans to never seen before landscapes and characters from the new movie.
I designed and prototyped the website where the experience would live.
The campaign was so successful that we were invited to show it live to no one other than film’s director J.J. Abrams himself in the final press junket before the launch of the movie. Here I had the honor of single handedly designing the physical space that hosted the experiences.
